Peter:
Laurie and I just came back from a weekend in Chicago, where we'd gone to help celebrate my Dad's 82nd birthday. I gave him and my uncle/his brother copies of Dad's War. They were immediately interested in the book. They had grown up on Chicago's South Side (Hyde Park, Austin)and both served in the Army during WWII. Instant connections with your book. When I showed them the picture of your home at 52nd and Blackstone, they told me that my family, before my arrival, had lived in an apt. at 49th and Blackstone -- just three blocks from your home! I was born right when our family moved to 7920 Blackstone. And my Mom grew up in Engelwood, above the hardware store, near 63rd and Halsted. Well, I'm running out of space here. Let me just say that I really enjoyed sharing Dad's War with my Dad.
Thanks.
